Glass Planner App Reviews

Best calendar app Ive had

I love finding new calendar apps, but this one takes the cake. It is clean, efficient, and effective. It has a huge amount of features and categories that one can place any type of activity, assignment, project, appointment into. It takes the things that are most important and puts them at the top of the list, and it moves later tasks to be active another day. I find it fascinating, creative, and fun to plan my days knowing that I can take full advantage of my focus and attention with Glass. Well done, my friends.

A gem

A planner, event reminder, to do list and everything all rolled into one. I have been looking for this for a long time. I will agree with others, there is a learning curve to this. But its definitely worth sticking with. Because once you understand it, this thing does everything and it does it well. I like being able to hide future occurrences from view, I like being able to tag so that I can find things quickly, and I especially like the fact that I was able to get rid of other programs and no longer have to open three or four different programs to fully function throughout the day. If youre willing to put in a little bit of time to discover and master all of the different functions, youll definitely find out you have one powerful tool at your fingertips.

So far, working better than Omnifocus

After struggling to find a to-do system that works and spending countless hours maintaining different systems, I stumbled upon Glass Planner. I’ve been using this now for several months and find it to be the best balanced system for me. It’s worth reading the tutorials and watching the videos to get the gist of it. The notion of working from the calendar without adding appointments is an elegant solution to what, I imagine, is a common problem - how do we keep track of it all and when do we do it. This app actually helps me accomplish my tasks instead of requiring me to spend hours and hours maintaining my to-do system. I love it. The developers have been very responsive to feedback and I look forward to seeing the rare things that are missing in future updates (search and perhaps an ability to email an item to the list). I highly recommend the upgrades (the price is very fair for such a well-thought-out app).

A wonderful app!

Because my life has gotten busier, Im redownloading this app. This is an excellent product, and I hope more people work their way toward it.

Remarkable!

I have tried a lot of different apps to help keep my business in order. Glass is the first program that I can honestly say does everything that I need. Glass is a system which must be learned. This means that I had to unlearn a few things that I believed I understood about task management. I was daunted in the beginning but stuck with it. I read the excellent orientation section, and by the start of day two I was flying. Bravo and thank you to the entire Glass team!

More Beautiful/seamless than omni focus

I LOVED omnifocus despite the high price tag. This grants pretty much the same capabilities from why I can see (tho I found omni to be cumbersome) this is beautiful/seamless and allows for quick adding/changing and looks really nice n has a nice FEEL to it. The whole USE of the app is elegant and just as powerful. I really hope a lot of people use this so it can continue to become more and more powerful. Awesome tutorial/orientation/videos help make it easy To understand can use projects/tags etc

Awesome

I have spent a lot of time looking for just the right App the help me in outside sales. This app is great for someone who is going to call on existing customers and do small tasks in between. Make a repeating existing customer call sheet and add other daily last minute tasks. Really, Really Awesome App!!

Awesome

Lots of potential, projects implementation is great, very clean, tasks and checklists and calendar all work together nicely

Splendid design & usability

The Glass Planner makes the most of the iPhones screen real estate to provide a time/task management system that is both easy to use and a pleasure to work with.

Best app but..

This is by far the best productivity app and I would love to use it as my main calendar and to do. However, I am hesitating due to the lack of a Web, desktop a D iPad app! But you have done a great job and I hope the iPad app is coming soon!

Good, but needs desktop version too.

I love the idea. If fact, I literally have a similar workflow via wunderlist and apples calendar app. If its going to become my daily utility, it would need to have a desktop version so I can work on the go and at home without having to be on my phone 24/7.

Best to do and calendar app and more

Ive tried many "best" to do apps that combines to do and calendar, and this app is by far the easiest and most practical one Ive encountered. Very thoughtful UI, beautiful design, big pretty font, but best of all, you can put your to dos anywhere you want in the timeline. Excellent app.

Keep me organized better than any other app

A fantastic, unique app with awesome alarm notifications and a great setup. I have yet to really find a problem with Glass. The biggest issue about this app is the learning curve, but it only took me a few weeks to figure it all out. Definitely worth paying for the full glass experience once you get the hang of it!

BEWARE

Downloaded yesterday; this morning my Google calendar is missing several events and my wifes (shared with me) has been completely erased. Good idea, but appears to be some killer bugs.

A complete solution to calendar and todo

I believe that every to do item should have a (soft) due date so this app is perfect for me. Even though it is free, its functions are very thoroughly designed and offer me all kinds of flexibilities. Best todo app out there. I hope it has a web version.

Beautiful organization that Ive always needed

This is a gorgeous app that is helping me get my butt in gear. Love the different ways to customize due dates, calendar items, and goals in one single app. The tutorial/hints are very helpful and thorough. Overall wonderful!

Shows a lot of promise, but needs work

UPDATE: Feb 23, 2016 Ah, yet another pointless update. The total description on todays update was... (drumroll please)... "Various bug fixes." As I feared, the developer seems to be releasing fairly regular "updates" in order to make it look like things are happening, but no actual improvements are ever being released. I believe theyre just trying to buy time. What a shame. The first time I ever tried this app, I had very high hopes for its future. But now its clear that theres no point waiting any longer. Thats too bad, because theyre going to lose a lot of customers in the process. UPDATE: Jan 7, 2016 Well, sadly it looks like this app is not going to receive the kind of aggressive development that we had all hoped for. They do release updates regularly, but they contain nothing of value at all... just "invisible bug fixes." After a while, it gives you the feeling that the developers are stringing us along and providing these pointless updates just to "say" that they update it regularly. But if no substantial updates arrive soon, I will be forced to move on. Others will too. Come on guys, its time to take this app to the next level! ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is a well-designed app that has clearly had a lot of thought put into it. It is missing some very important features, but it shows a lot of promise. It really needs: - iCloud sync (I could never commit my entire life of tasks and appointments to an app that didnt sync to iCloud and my others devices) - An iPad version - Location-based alerts. Not sure I could ever live without that anymore. - No alarms are imported from your iCal events, so just be aware of that. You will have to re-enter them all manually. - Speaking of that, why not allow us to set a default reminder time in the Settings that will automatically be applied to all new events? I always add a 30-minute alarm reminder to every appointment so I dont miss it. This would save huge amounts of time when creating new appointments. - It shouldnt make you go back into a task after you create it just to be able to add repeating options, start & end dates, alarms, etc., or to turn an item into a checklist and add the actual items. Why not give us the ability to edit everything we need to while creating a task? Just include a "More" button or something like that while creating a task that we can tap on if we do want to add additional settings. - Not sure why it puts certain tasks in a tiny green font about half the size of the other fonts. The different color is fine to indicate the type of task, but having the font that small makes it too easy to overlook. - I hate always having to reach to the very top of the screen to add a task or select filters, especially on the larger screens of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Just using this app for the past week has exhausted me from having to constantly reach up to the top for everything. Why not allow the bottom "Plan / Act / Done" row to slide out of the way, revealing additional options underneath? Or make those buttons a little narrower and include a big "+" button (to quickly add new items) and a tags filter button on the lower right side. - The same is true within all the other screens. The "swipe from left edge" feature has been available for years in iOS which lets you quickly return to the previous page. Please implement this throughout Glass. Having to always tap that little back arrow in the top left to go back a screen is so annoying, especially on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus! It makes it impossible to use Glass with one hand. - I dont understand why this app will not import any subscribed calendars like US Holidays or your Birthdays calendar from iCal. Not being able to see special days when planning tasks and events is a nightmare. - Creating checklists is easy, but deleting a checklist item is a pain. We shouldnt have to put the cursor in the field and tap tap tap the backspace key until we erase all the text. Why not just let us swipe any checklist item and choose to delete it? - Give us a setting to have our "Someday" items hidden from the Act view if we choose. Having all my someday items cluttering up that screen distracts me from focusing only on what I need to do today. Adding these enhancements would put this app in a whole new category of user-friendliness, and I would gladly bump up my rating to 5 stars. Im hoping Glass has a bright future!

I love this app!

I have gone through a million task apps and this one is the only one that has stuck. I love it and use it daily!

Life Changing App!

Before I started using Glass Planner I was using few to-do apps. Some of them were great such as todoist. Even when I used these apps I found myself procrastinating and eventually most tasks ended up overdue. I was trying to find out why it happens and when I looked back at projects that I was successful in executing I realized that they were attached to times. I even looked back in my old Day Runner organizers. I started looking for some calendar app and tried some good apps but none of them had the functionality I was looking for. I remembered two quotes that help know what I am looking for. One from a previous job VP Who used to say "If it is not scheduled is not being done" and another "live life in units of 30 minutes " I am using Glass Planner for a while and my life was actually changed. I put almost everything into the app, I can open the app any time of the day and see the flow of my life. What was done, what has to be done and what is overdue. I do better professionally, academically and family wise. I do have more time to spend with my family, read books and watch reruns. Have to say that the app is very powerful but also very complex and it takes time to use it correctly. Some of the interface is awkward but it does not take from the effectiveness of the app.

No Widget??

This app is amazing and has helped me organize my schedule 100x better than the apple calendar app. The only thing I dislike about it is that theres no widget feature for the Notification Center. Other than that, I highly recommend this app if you use your phone for reminders, calendars, and other productivity means.
